Bio

Hello, my name is Jose Mendez. I was born with a chronic disease called Cystic Fibrosis (C.F.). C.F. is a genetic disease I inherited from my parents. C.F. is a life threatening, genetic disease that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system. Since C.F. caused mutations in my genes that produces a protein called CFTR, my mucus became very thick and sticky. Overtime, my lungs became extremely weak because the sticky mucus was producing multiple infections particularly in my lungs. I had a bilateral lung transplant late July, 2010. This procedure completely changed my life. During the recovery process, I continued to attend Napa Valley College (N.V.C.) because I didn’t want to stop perusing my Digital Design Graphics Technology (D.D.G.T.) degree.

I am currently in the process of earning my A.S. Degree in the DDGT Program.
