This lamp was inspired by some beautifully rusted angle iron I found while exploring. It's flaking paint and rust lend it a very detailed texture which I love.
I set as my goal to use as few new parts as possible in this build, and the only purchased components are the LED strips that provide the light.
The switch, rheostat and connector were scavenged from 1960s and 70s telephone equipment, the angle iron
was found as mentioned, and the boom arm was taken from a broken workbench light. Even the wire was pulled from an old electrical cabinet!
I'm very pleased with the results, and I expect this lamp to grace my desk for years to come.
