Machine Vise
Here is a project that I completed during my time at the Napa Valley College within the DDGT program (Digital Design Graphics Technology). This project is one that shows off a lot of the knowledge base that I have obtained during my time enrolled in DDGT. This Machine Vise started as a model created using Audodesk Inventor software, which then was imported into 3ds Max, another Autodesk software in order to animate and properly illuminate the Machine Vise within a 3D environment that I created from scratch. This project was then finalized using Adobe Premiere Pro (a video editing software) in order to piece the whole project together by adding music, my own branding, and not to forget the thousands of frames that 3ds Max gave me to splice together. Overall, this Machine Vise shows a little bit of everything that I have learned during my time within the DDGT program, and I would highly suggest enrolling into this program if any of the topics that I have listed above interest you!

This entire project took me around twenty uninterrupted hours to complete. Now this may not seem like that much time, but you have to remember that this entire project only contained the Machine Vise itself. Out in the industry high quality animations have much more moving parts, and a lot more geometry to animate. So as you can probably tell, time to the project can scale rapidly depending on the complexity of the animation that you are trying to achieve.

Luckily enough for me, the DDGT program instructor Gary Strommen does an amazing job at explaining all of this at length in order to prepare you for the industry. So I now know how to handle projects of this level of complexity, and feel confident in my ability to transfer this knowledge base to my future work environments.
