Animation - Robotic Arm This animation of a robotic arm was one of the many more complicated projects we created in the program. I applied most of the things and programs I learned in previous semesters, as well as the new ones I learned this past semester. I had to use seven programs in total to complete this animation, including AutoCAD, Inventor, 3ds Max, After Effects, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Dreamwave. The animation is inspired by a game called "Tower of Hanoi." The objective of the game is to move a stack of discs from one end of the board to the other. Like any other game, this one has rules, and they are the following: 1) Only one disc may be moved at a time. 2) Each move must consist of taking the top disc from one of the stacks and placing it on top of another stack or on a placeholder. 3) No disc may be placed on top of a smaller disc. I started by 3D modeling the arm in AutoCAD and Inventor, the difference being that in Inventor I had to create the discs, the table, and the hose that is connected to the arm. After that I imported it into 3ds Max where I began to animate it, there I used different types of animations and when I finished, I created the lighting, the camera, the arm materials, etc. In After Effects I added my logo and then moved on to Premiere Pro to edit the entire video. In Photoshop I took care of creating some titles for the video along with the thumbnails of the images you see below. Finally, in Dreamweaver I created a new page on my website to present my project to the world. |
