Robotic Arm: Tower of Hanoi

This project was the most extensive animation project I have done to date. However, this was the most enojoyable animation project I have ever done! It was first modeled in the Autodesk program Inventor. Once it was modeled in Inventor a detailed sheet set was created for the reproduction of the assembly.

Next came the animation portion of the project. The Inventor Model was imported into another Audtodesk program, 3DS Max, that is responsible for the animation. The model was rigged using a bone and IK Chain Structre in 3DS max. Helper Sliders were used to control the movement of the slding tube and the compression and decompression of the suction cup. All Materials used in the scene were Mental Ray Materials to really increase the quality of the renders. By far this was the most extensive and detailed animation that I had done to date.

The Tower of Hanoi is a puzzle game where the objective is to move the dics to the father most spot. The catch is that you can only move one disc at a time without placing a lager disc on top of a smaller one. For four discs the minimum number of moves is 15.
