Biography

My name is Julian Francisco Lemus and I am a student at Napa Valley College pursuing a career in drafting and design. Creativity and curiosity have been part of me for as long as I can remember — but discovering how to channel them into the world has been a journey I continue to strive for every day..

I grew up as an athlete, raised by hardworking parents who showed me the value of persistence and growth. Those two ideals — fulfillment and constant improvement — have stayed with me, even as the shape of my dreams has changed over time.

After high school, I stepped into the working world, taking a full-time job at a screen printing and embroidery warehouse. For a while, the routine was enough. But as time passed, I found myself feeling lost — no longer the athlete I once was, and without a clear direction. I craved something more, something that would reignite the fire I had felt for so long. That spark came from an unexpected opportunity. Artist Anthony Hart, invited me to help with a project for a major convention in Los Angeles titled “Complexcon”. We were tasked with building a booth for "Soulection," a popular Apple Music radio station known for its R&B and hip-hop mixes. When I joined, there was only a week left before Complexcon — the clock was ticking.

Seeing Anthony’s 3D models and working with a team of creators, I experienced something I hadn’t felt in a long time: passion. We stayed up all night, pouring our energy into constructing a booth with a custom lounge, a waterfall feature, and walls lined with clothing displays. Watching it all come together, and then seeing the final product showcased among some of the biggest brands and artists, was life changing. I realized that bringing ideas into the real world — designing, building, creating — was what I wanted to do.

Soon after, I had another life-changing experience: a family trip to Europe in March 2023. We explored France, Italy, and Spain, where I stood in awe of architectural wonders like the Louvre Museum, the Eiffel Tower, the Vatican, and the Colosseum. Witnessing the incredible artistry and engineering of these historic structures deepened my fascination with design and construction.

Fueled by inspiration from Los Angeles and Europe, I realized the kind of life I wanted to build. Finding the Digital Design and Graphics Technology Program at Napa Valley College was the first real step on that path.

Today, I am immersed in a world where creativity and precision meet, developing skills in programs like AutoCAD, Inventor, and Adobe Suite. With my growing passion and expanding toolkit, I am dedicated to creating a future where vision becomes reality — for myself and for those I collaborate with.
