Casing Project
(AutoCAD)

Working Drawing Sheet Set

The Casing Project was one of the first assignments in the Digital Design Graphics Technology (DDGT) program that went beyond basic dimensioning and drafting concepts. To me, it was one of the first truly challenging working drawings I created due to both the complexity of the part and the limited drawing space available (what I thought was "limited space" at the time).

Because the project consisted of a single part, the number of drawing pages was limited, which required a large amount of information to be organized into a much smaller space than I had previously worked with. When provided with raw reference material, such as rough sketches and dimensions, it can be challenging to break that information down into a clear and translatable format that others can easily interpret and manufacture from.

One of the key ways I minimized the need for additional drawing sheets was through the use of breakout sections. These allowed me to dimension interior features without creating entirely new views or dedicated section views for only one or two dimensions. Learning how to efficiently organize information while maintaining clarity was one of the most valuable lessons from this project.

In the end, I was able to produce a clean and effective single-page working drawing. To further help illustrate the part, I also created two rendered images showcasing both a complete isometric view of the casing (left) and an isometric section view (right). Feel free to click on the images for a better view.
