9-51 Caster
9-51 Caster was assigned during the later part of the first semester of DDGT. This was the first 3D assembly I created in AutoCAD in which I applied much of the knowledge I had gained earlier in the semester. This assignment required me to first create a 2D drawing, from which the 3D geometry is created by using commands like extrude, revolve, and align. This was also the first assigmnet where I learned how to create an exploded view of an assembly.

Additionally, my instructor also had me create 9-51 Caster in Inventor as well. Being a program specifically taylored for 3D modeling, it was much easier to create this assembly in Inventor. By creating this assembly in both AutoCAD and Inventor, I was able to really appreciate the much more streamlined proccess of 3D modeling in Inventor. Funnily enough, I had actually created this exact same assembly in my junior year highschool robotics class, although at the time I did not know what is was I was creating.
